There is nothing more satisfying than turning a less-than-stellar set of old clothes into a brilliant new me-made garment! In our new reality competition show (just kidding, Bravo hasn’t called yet), Nisan, Justine and Amy are competing to see who can convince our celebrity judges they made the best THRIFT STORE FLIP! Armed with a budget of $40, 20 minutes of shopping time and 4 hours in front of their machines, they are turning out looks that will turn heads! Let’s just say, they are not boring 😆. Look, it's a white version of the western shirt, with some little design tweaks. ——— First, rather than having the placket run top to bottom, I ended it at the yoke so that visually, said yoke looks like it covers the whole top part of the shirt. Next, I reshaped the flap of the patch pockets so that they are in parallel with the yoke. I also put the snap buttons all the way on the biggest edge. Finally, the bottom of the patch pocket is curved. Expect to see a lot more of this shirt in upcoming videos! Oh, and surprise, there is hair under that hat. It turns out it also looks great layering the shirt.

In an effort to make more time for the hobbies we love, the CCP and Core Fabric’s teams paused what they were working on and gathered for a Crafternoon! This one was focused on mending, and everyone schlepped their projects to the office to tackle those pesky UFOs you always have a stack of in your sewing room. From darning socks and mending tears to hemming and small alterations, there are always those bits of handsewing to get to, and it’s so much easier to tackle those projects when there are people to chat with! We plan on doing this again; it was such a nice way to spend an afternoon and share some skills. Consider starting your own mending group; it really helps to get those projects completed! 😅 #mending #sewingcircle #crafternoon

Who could be in a bad mood in these cheery jammies by @sea_sand_sews ?! She had this to say about them: "First foray into the glorious Fran pyjamas by closetcorepatterns - they’re boxy and breezy and easy to sew. Made a size M for the top and sized down to S for the bottoms [me = no hips] and next time I’d possibly do an S on top too - with the deep pleat in the back there’s plenty of ease. Enjoyed the side vents on the shirt and the fun extra button loop at the collar. We don't often repost makes, but this entire me-made look by @thimbleandgruff made us have to reconsider... quite frankly, everything. From the pants print talking to the coat tigers to the attitude at altitude, this is the outfit inspo we'll be looking to from now until we're wearing shorts. Here's what she had to say about it: "In the icy/sandy/mucky/soupy end of winter, but keeping the vibes bright just to spite it. I finished this #closetcorephoebe coat last spring and finally got around to knitting it its own Sophie Shawl to go with it. I used the recommended Sandnes Garn Alpakka Ull in Spicy Carrot and I love these two pieces together. IMO, I prefer the Sophie shawl to the Sophie hood, because it’s large enough to be worn either way, instead of just being a hood. I posted more about the coat when I originally made it, but let it be known I will live the rest of my natural born life in its company. It was a bear of a project, but the closetcorepatterns instructions are great, and they’re with ya every step of the way. My one regret is not taking the time to do bound buttonholes, but I did my best at the time.
